Description
A group of three vintage American pulp science fiction magazines, ‘Astounding Science Fiction’, published by A Street and Smith Publication in 1942. This lot comprises the January 1942 issue featuring “OPPOSITES REACT by WILL STEWART,” and two copies of the April 1942 issue, one highlighting “SWIMMING LESSON by Isaac Asimov” and the other “BEYOND THIS HORIZON by ROBERT HEINLEIN.” These are softcover paper magazines. The reverse sides feature period advertisements, including two promoting “Calvert” whiskey with cartoon penguins and one for “Bankers Life and Casualty Company” family insurance. A small white note marked “14” is also present.
Condition report:
Fair to Good condition. All issues exhibit significant age and handling wear, including creasing, edge chipping, and discoloration to covers and pages. Some tears and minor losses to edges are visible. Pages are discolored consistent with age.
