Description

A group of three vintage "Astounding Science-Fiction" pulp magazines, published by Street & Smith. Each magazine was originally priced at 20 cents.

The lot includes:

1. May 1948 issue, featuring "THE MERMAN" by L. Sprague de Camp. The back cover displays a full-page vintage advertisement for Camel cigarettes ("LET UP—LIGHT UP A CAMEL!").

2. May 1949 issue, featuring "HERMIT OF MARS" by Clifford D. Simak. The back cover displays a full-page vintage advertisement for Camel cigarettes ("LET UP—LIGHT UP A CAMEL!").

3. March 1952 issue, featuring "SOMETHING from JUPITER" by Dow Elstar. The back cover displays a full-page vintage advertisement for Chesterfield cigarettes ("Chesterfields satisfy millions").


Condition report:

Fair to good apparent condition. Each magazine exhibits common signs of age, use, and handling, including creasing, edge and spine wear, and discoloration consistent with their age. The May 1948 issue appears to have the most significant wear among the three.
