Description
This is an original issue of Startling Stories Pulp Magazine, dated September 1939, originally priced at 15¢. The front cover features vibrant, period-typical artwork depicting blue-suited figures, possibly astronauts or aliens, carrying coffins from a graveyard towards a large red spaceship. Prominent text on the cover indicates “A NOVEL OF THE FUTURE COMPLETE IN THIS ISSUE!” and lists story titles including “THE BRIDGE OF EARTH” by Robert Ore Williams. The spine is marked “S.S. Sept. 39.” The back cover features a full-page advertisement for Lucky Strike Cigarettes, promoting them as “Famous at a Thousand Tobacco Auctions” and asking “Have you tried a Lucky lately.”
