A Golden Age Superman Sunday newspaper comic strip, dated June 16, 1946, from the “Sunday Times Chicago’s Picture Newspaper Comic Section.” This full-color strip, featuring the story “The Underground Clown in the Mud” by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, is professionally encapsulated in a CGC Universal Grade slab, bearing an “Authentic” (AU) designation. The strip displays a “10¢” price and “$125 CASH CONTESTS THIS ISSUE” promotional text.
Condition report:
The paper is visibly toned with consistent yellowing commensurate with its age. The strip appears well-preserved, showing no obvious major tears or creases, and is protected within the clear, rigid plastic CGC grading slab. Encapsulated as CGC Universal Grade, Authentic (AU).
