Description
Adventure Comics #287, published by DC Comics in August 1961. This Silver Age comic book is professionally encapsulated in a rigid, transparent plastic CGC Universal Grade slab, receiving a grade of 5.5 with Off-White to White pages. The colorful cover depicts Superboy receiving a golden trophy from a man in a suit, while other scenes feature his parents, Jor-El and Lara, with baby Kal-El on Krypton, and a character in purple and yellow. Visible text includes the title “Adventure Comics,” issue number “NO. 287,” a “10¢” price, and the “APPROVED BY THE COMICS CODE AUTHORITY” stamp. The feature title is “The WAR of the SUPERBOYS!”. This issue marks the 1st appearance of Dev-Em and Bizarro-Olsen. The story is credited to Jerry Siegel, with art by George Papp and John Forte, and cover by Curt Swan and Stan Kaye.
