Description
A Silver Age Marvel comic book, “Journey Into Mystery #114 WITH THE MIGHTY THOR,” published in March 1965. Professionally graded as 5.5 with off-white to white pages by CGC Universal Grade, serial number 4577268016. The vibrant front cover, credited to Jack Kirby for the cover and with Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Chic Stone, and Vince Colletta for art/story, depicts Thor battling a muscular, chain-wielding adversary identified as the Absorbing Man, marking his origin and first appearance. Visible text on the cover includes the “Marvel Comics 12¢” price, the “Approved by the Comics Code Authority” seal, and promotional blurbs like “THE START OF ANOTHER UNFORGETTABLE SUPER-EPIC!”, “THE STRONGER I AM, THE SOONER I DIE!”, and “THE MMMMS WANTS YOU!”.
