Description
A professionally graded comic book, “Journey Into Mystery #84,” published by Marvel Comics in September 1962. The comic is encapsulated within a transparent CGC Universal Grade slab, certified at a grade of 6.0 with “WHITE Pages.” The classic Silver Age cover art depicts Thor with Mjolnir seemingly amidst smoke, confronting armed soldiers, alongside a distressed man and woman near a stone wall, and a man in a suit who states “IT’S HOPLESS! EVEN THOR CAN’T SAVE ME NOW!”. Other visible cover text includes the prominent yellow title “JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY,” “FEATURING: the MIGHTY THOR, CAPTURED BY ‘THE EXECUTIONER’,” a 12¢ price, issue number 84, and the “APPROVED BY THE COMICS CODE AUTHORITY” seal. The CGC label further details the creative team as Stan Lee (story), Dick Ayers, Don Heck, and Steve Ditko (art), and Jack Kirby (cover and art). This issue is notable for the 2nd appearance of Thor and the 1st appearance of Jane Foster.
