A collection of 7 Silver Age DC Comics from the ‘Showcase Presents’ series, primarily dating to 1968, as indicated by their 12¢ cover price. The collection includes G.I. JOE (#53, #54), THE SPECTRE (#60, #61), ANTHRO (#63), B’WANA BEAST (#66), TOP GUN (#102), and JOHNNY DOUBLE (#65), spanning genres such as superhero, adventure, Western, and prehistoric. The comics feature a distinctive mid-century American comic book art style, with visible cover text highlighting character names and story prompts, exemplified by “THE SPECTRE…OUT OF MY BODY YOU SQUATTER!” and “BORN TO TROUBLE… JOHNNY DOUBLE.” Fashioned from paper, the reverse sides feature various period advertisements, notably for Aurora hobby kits.
