Description
A group of three vintage "Famous Funnies" comic books, published by Eastern Color Printing. Each comic bears a 10¢ cover price and is individually protected in a clear plastic sleeve. The lot includes:
– No. 176, March, featuring a cover illustration with the text "– FIRST IT WAS ONLY HER BOOKS HE CARRIED HOME FROM SCHOOL !" and a visible signature "Steve Douglas."
– No. 181, August, featuring a cover illustration with the text "SOUP’S ON! COME AND GET IT!" and depicting "NAPOLEON, " with a visible signature "S.D."
– No. 189, August, featuring a cover illustration with the text "WEBSTER HAS FOUR BLIND DATES…DO YOU GIRLS WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE?" and noting "DICKIE DARE" as featured in this issue.
All three comics include "AUTHORIZED A.C.M.P." and "CONFORMS TO THE COMICS CODE" seals, along with a "THIS IS A FAMOUS FUNNIES Publication" notice. The covers display colorful, classic Golden Age/Silver Age style cartoon illustrations.
Condition report:
The comic books show signs of age-appropriate wear, including light edge toning and minor creasing. They are generally well-preserved within their protective sleeves, presenting in good apparent condition.
