Description
A collection of approximately twelve vintage promotional comic books featuring the character “Poll Parrot.” These booklets, primarily titled “POLL PARROT,” are indicative of the mid-20th century, consistent with the 10-cent price point and classic cartoon art style. Printed on paper with vibrant, full-color illustrations, the collection includes various issue numbers such as No. 8, No. 9, No. 10, No. 12, No. 13, and No. 14. Episode titles prominently displayed include “BANDIT BUSTERS,” “THE FRIGHTFUL FLIGHT,” “WHOLE OF A,” “BULLY,” and “JUNGLE BUNGLE.” The bottom sections of multiple covers feature advertising text for “Poll-Parrot SHOES For Boys and Girls,” often accompanied by “WITH THE COMPLIMENTS OF YOUR POLL PARROT DEALER,” and in some cases, specific store names like “ROSEN’S DEPARTMENT STORE” and “H. N. ROSEN & HANCOCK, MD.” A white sticky note with the handwritten number “483” is present with the collection.
Condition report:
The items are in fair to good vintage condition. Common signs of age are present, including minor edge and corner wear, some creasing, and slight discoloration consistent with handling over time.
