Description
A collection of five vintage American comic books from DC Comics’ ‘The Brave and the Bold’ series, dating from 1968 to 1971, placing them within the late Silver Age/early Bronze Age of comics. The collection notably includes *The Brave and the Bold #61* (September 1968, 12¢), featuring ‘STARMAN and BLACK CANARY, ‘ with cover text highlighting ‘THE SENSATIONAL REVIVAL OF TWO SUPER-STARS FROM THE FABULOUS FORTIES!’ and ‘SPECIAL FEATURE! ORIGINS OF STARMAN AND BLACK CANARY!’ This issue is recognized as a key Silver Age comic for the origin of Starman and Black Canary.
The remaining four issues, all priced at 15¢, include: *The Brave and the Bold #92* (November 1970) with ‘BATMAN and INTRODUCING THE BAT-SQUAD’; *The Brave and the Bold #94* (March 1971) with ‘BATMAN and THE TEEN TITANS, ‘ featuring ‘CONCENTRATION CAMP FOR ADULTS ONLY’ and ‘REBELS IN THE STREETS’; *The Brave and the Bold #95* (May 1971) with ‘BATMAN and…?’ and the text ‘YOU? B-BUT YOU’RE LYING HERE… DEAD!’; and *The Brave and the Bold #96* (July 1971) with ‘BATMAN and SGT. ROCK, ‘ featuring ‘ROCK?! AND WE TRUSTED YOU… YOU TRAITOR!’ All five comics are housed in clear protective plastic sleeves, indicating an effort at preservation.
Condition report:
All comics appear to be in good condition with vibrant colors and minor, age-appropriate wear consistent with their vintage. The protective plastic sleeves have likely contributed to their preservation. No significant tears, heavy creasing, or major discoloration are immediately apparent.
