Description
A pair of vintage American comic books, including Superman #209, published by DC Comics in August 1968. This issue features the story ‘SENSATIONAL! YOUR DAILY PLANET REPORTER BECOMES THE CLARK KENT MONSTER!’ and carries an advertisement for Mattel Hot Wheels miniature cars on its back cover. Accompanying this is Giant Superman No. 217, published in July (circa late 1960s), priced at 25¢, with multiple story captions including ‘HOW SUPERMAN BECAME THE MERMAID!’ and ‘FIRST SUPERGIRL!’. Its reverse side advertises a “204 REVOLUTIONARY WAR SOLDIERS set” priced at $1.98. Both items are paper-based and exhibit a classic mid-to-late 20th-century superhero comic art style.
Condition report:
Used condition with visible wear, creasing, and minor edge imperfections consistent with aged paper. Both covers show signs of handling and surface rubbing. Spines exhibit creasing and some tearing at staples. Pages may show tanning due to age.
