Description
This lot features a collection of vintage American comic book memorabilia, highlighted by a 1949 Golden Age DC Comics ‘Superboy’ promotional advertisement. The single-page advertisement, identified through web intelligence, promotes ‘Superboy Has A Magazine All His Own’ and references ‘A Big Hit in Adventure Comics’ and a ’26th Great Issue’. Accompanying this are three vintage DC Comics ‘Peter Porkchops’ issues: No. 1, No. 7, and No. 30 (marked ‘July’). All three comic books feature anthropomorphic pig and wolf characters on their covers, display a ’10c’ price, and carry the ‘Approved by the Comics Code Authority’ stamp. The reverse side of each ‘Peter Porkchops’ comic features a full-page advertisement for ‘Daisy Air Rifles’, showcasing various models including the Red Ryder Carbine. All items are paper-based. The lot exhibits significant age-related wear consistent with vintage paper items. All items show prominent creasing, edge tears, discoloration, and general surface abrasions. The \'Superboy\' promotional advertisement is particularly fragile and displays notable tearing.
