Description
A 1998 United States Postal Service (USPS) Superman promotional poster and an accompanying commemorative booklet. The large rectangular display board features a predominantly purple background with a prominent yellow graphic of a 32-cent postage stamp depicting Superman, marked "Superman Arrives 1938" and "32 USA." Text on the board includes "PICK ‘UP, UP, AND AWAY’ YOUR SUPERMAN STAMP!", "BUY YOUR 1930s SPECIAL EDITION STAMP SHEET!", "CELEBRATE THE CENTURY… A DECADE OF HISTORY", and "1930s COLLECTION" with a row of smaller stamp images. The smaller paper booklet is a "Special Limited Edition United States Postal Service Commemorative, " reproducing the iconic "ACTION COMICS No. 1, JUNE, 1938" cover showing Superman lifting a car. It details "The 1930s First Day Issuance" from Cleveland, September 10, 1998, and is priced at $7.95.
