This collection of Howdy Doody memorabilia includes an animated talking alarm clock, a carded watch set, and plush dolls. The molded plastic alarm clock, produced by Janex Corp. and dated 1974, features Howdy Doody and Clarabell the Clown figures with the text It’s Howdy Doody Time Talking Alarm. The reverse of the clock is embossed with 1974 JANEX CORP. EATONTOWN N.J. 07724 U.S. PAT. NO. 3.835.640 MADE IN TAIWAN. The lot includes a 1987 JA-RU watch and clock set, item number 2307, which remains sealed in its original illustrative blister card packaging. Also included are plush dolls constructed with molded plastic heads and textile bodies. The dolls are dressed in red gingham shirts, denim trousers, and faux leather boots and mittens.
Condition report:
The items are in good vintage condition. The plush dolls show minor surface wear to the textile and plastic components. The Janex alarm clock exhibits typical age-related surface wear. The JA-RU watch set packaging shows shelf aging, including minor creasing and edge wear to the cardstock. All mechanical and electronic functions are untested.
