This is a professionally authenticated 1909-1911 T206 White Border baseball card featuring Jesse Tannehill of the Washington Senators. This card is a notable variant featuring the scarcer Polar Bear tobacco advertisement on the reverse. The front displays a color lithograph of Tannehill in a throwing motion set against a solid lime-green background, with the text TANNEHILL, WASHINGTON printed vertically on the right edge. The reverse features the dark blue advertisement for Polar Bear Scrap Tobacco. Polar Bear backs are highly collected due to their relative scarcity compared to Piedmont or Sweet Caporal brands and their unique distribution method in loose scrap tobacco, which often resulted in the white speckling or snowing effect visible on the reverse ink.
