BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Seven Autographed Negro League Baseball Photographs and Ephemera Including Buck O’Neil and Ray Dandridge

This lot consists of seven individual items of memorabilia related to the Negro Leagues, each featuring a hand-signed autograph or inscription. The collection includes two black and white photographs of Buck O’Neil; one depicts him in a Kansas City Monarchs uniform and is signed Buck O’Neil, while the second larger photograph shows him fielding a ground ball and is inscribed To Nick. A color-tinted photograph features Hall of Famer Ray Dandridge in a Mexico jersey, signed in blue ink and bearing a visible James Spence Authentication (JSA) certification sticker in the lower right corner. A black and white photograph of Ted Double Duty Radcliffe shows him sliding into home plate in a Homestead Grays uniform and is signed Double Duty in blue ink; a faint secondary signature is also visible in the lower-left corner. A full-length black and white photograph depicts a player in a Chicago American Giants uniform, signed Samuel Williams. Jim Zapp is featured in a dugout photograph inscribed To Aimee. The final item is a Buck Leonard biographical sheet from the Mount North Carolina Hometown Champion Series, with the inset photograph signed Buck Leonard in blue ink. The items are a combination of various photographic print types and commemorative ephemera.

Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.

Condition report:

The collection is in overall good condition, showing typical signs of handling and minor wear such as light surface impressions, minor creasing, or slight corner blunting consistent with vintage or commemorative paper items. The signatures are well-preserved and remain clear and legible.
