This lot features a selection of Major League Baseball collectibles consisting of a team-signed 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates baseball and two limited-edition baseball cards. The baseball is an Official National League ball with the stamped signature of President Charles S. Feeney. It is hand-signed in blue ink by numerous members of the team including Manager Chuck Tanner, along with Bill Madlock, Dave Parker, Phil Garner, Matt Alexander, Jim Bibby, Don Robinson, Bert Blyleven, Al Monchak, Lee Lacy, Eddie Solomon, Rick Rhoden, John Candelaria, Bill Robinson, and Mike Easler. The ball is accompanied by a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity (Certification No. D84190), which authenticates the signatures while identifying the Willie Stargell signature as a clubhouse version. Also included are two limited-edition 1993 Upper Deck The Golden Era Mickey Mantle Then & Now cards (Card No. TN17). These cards feature a reflective metallic finish on the front with images of Mantle from his 1951 rookie season and his later years. Both cards are individually serial-numbered on the reverse: 0021 / 2,500 and 0334 / 2,500. The baseball is housed in a clear acrylic display cube, and the cards are each protected in four-screw acrylic holders.
Condition report:
The baseball shows light, even toning and natural yellowing typical for its age. The signatures remain clear and legible. The acrylic display cube exhibits minor surface scuffing. Both Mickey Mantle cards appear to be in excellent condition within their respective four-screw holders, showing no signs of surface wear or corner damage through the clear plastic.
