This lot consists of three autographed color 8×10 photographs featuring prominent players from the Washington Redskins. The first photograph features quarterback Joe Theismann in a white jersey dropping back to pass. It is signed in black marker with the personalized inscription To Zachary, Best Wishes Joe Theismann #7. An Official NFL Licensed Product hologram sticker with serial number NF 90900828 is located in the bottom right corner. The reverse of the photo has the name Joe Theismann handwritten in pen. The second photograph features Hall of Fame wide receiver and running back Charley Taylor in a burgundy jersey carrying the football. It is signed in blue/purple ink Charley Taylor HOF 84. The reverse of the photo has the name Charley Taylor handwritten in pen. The third photograph features Hall of Fame safety Ken Houston in a white jersey. It is signed in purple/blue ink Kenny Houston HOF 86. The bottom left corner includes a ProLook logo and copyright text reading TM 2002 KENNY HOUSTON / PROLOOK / Image #4757.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The photographs are in good condition with minor signs of handling. The Joe Theismann signature shows a slight ink smudge on the letter T in the inscription. Minor edge wear and light surface impressions are visible on all three prints. The ink on the Ken Houston and Charley Taylor signatures exhibits a slight purple shift or tonal variation common with certain markers over time.
