This lot features a collection of four autographed color photographs of legendary Washington Redskins players. The group includes three photographs of quarterback Billy Kilmer and one action photograph of Hall of Fame safety Kenny Houston. Each photograph measures approximately 8 inches by 10 inches and features a signature in blue felt-tip ink.
The Kenny Houston photograph depicts an action sequence of a tackle against the Dallas Cowboys. It is signed Kenny Houston HOF 86 and contains licensed copyright markings from ProLook (Image #4757, dated 2002).
One Billy Kilmer photograph shows the player in a burgundy home jersey dropping back to pass. This photo includes an official NFL hologram sticker with serial number 00308990559 and Photo File markings dated 2006.
Two additional Billy Kilmer photographs are identical licensed ProLook images (Image #4944, dated 2002) showing him under center in a white road jersey. These are individually signed as Bill Kilmer #17 and Billy Kilmer #17.
The lot is accompanied by one Lifetime Certificate of Authenticity from Real McCoy 2 Collectibles (UACC Registered Dealer #269) for a Billy Kilmer photograph, dated August 16, 2010.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The photographs are in excellent condition with clear, bold signatures. There is no visible fading, creasing, or edge wear to the images.
