This lot consists of three autographed 8 inch by 10 inch photographs featuring prominent quarterbacks from the Carolina Panthers NFL franchise. The first item is a color action photograph of Jake Delhomme (number 17) wearing a black home jersey. The photograph is signed in black felt-tip marker and includes the inscription To Aimee on the right side. It features a Photo File logo dated 2005, an NFL Players logo, and an official NFL hologram sticker (serial 00090340347). A handwritten collector’s identification note is included. The second item is a black and white action photograph of Steve Beuerlein (number 7) in a white away jersey. It is heavily inscribed in blue felt-tip marker: To Aimee: Keep Smilin’! Go Panthers! Steve Beuerlein #7. The third item is a color photograph of Chris Weinke (number 16) in a black home jersey, signed in blue felt-tip marker across the lower half. This photograph features a 2001 Photo File logo, an official NFL hologram sticker (serial C97755699), and a National Sports Distributors (NSD) hologram sticker (serial 134528). Documentation for the Weinke photograph includes a formal Letter of Authenticity from National Sports Distributors dated August 16, 2004, signed by owner Robert Hemphill, matching the serial number on the affixed hologram.
Each photograph measures 8 x 10 inches.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.
Condition report:
The photographs are in excellent condition. Signatures and inscriptions are bold, clear, and show no signs of fading. The photo surfaces and edges appear well-preserved with minimal handling wear. Two of the photographs (Delhomme and Beuerlein) contain personalizations.
