Description
BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Trio of Kansas City Chiefs Autographed Memorabilia Featuring Matt Cassel, Jan Stenerud, and Greg Manusky
This lot consists of three autographed items representing different eras of the Kansas City Chiefs franchise.
The first item is a color photograph of quarterback Matt Cassel signed in black marker. Cassel is depicted in a red home jersey wearing the team’s 50th-anniversary patch, which dates the image to the 2009 season. The signature includes a personalization reading To Nick, Go Chiefs! Matt Cassel #7.
The second item is a black and white photograph signed by Pro Football Hall of Fame kicker Jan Stenerud. The image captures an action shot from Super Bowl IV and includes a printed caption at the bottom stating Chief Jan Stenerud kicks one of three field goals in Super Bowl IV. The signature Jan Stenerud is applied across the center in purple felt-tip marker.
The third item is an oversized trading card signed by linebacker Greg Manusky. The player is shown in a red Chiefs jersey with his signature Greg Manusky 51 in black marker. This item is accompanied by a handwritten index card detailing Manusky’s biographical and professional information, including his time at Colgate and his coaching tenure with the San Diego Chargers.
The signatures in this lot have not been reviewed or certified by a third-party authentication service such as PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.
Condition report:
All items appear to be in good condition. The photographs show sharp imagery and clear signatures with no visible creasing or fading. The Greg Manusky card shows minor edge wear consistent with handling. The accompanying index card shows slight yellowing consistent with age.
