BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Large Collection of Late 1980s and Early 1990s Baseball Trading Cards Featuring Key Rookies and Sets

This is an expansive collection of baseball trading cards primarily from the late 1980s through the early 1990s. The lot encompasses thousands of cards from major manufacturers including Topps, Score, Donruss, and Stadium Club. Included in the collection is a white storage box labeled as a 1993 Topps set and a 1990 Donruss Baseball Puzzle and Cards set box. Significant rookie and star cards have been identified and organized into protective plastic top-loader sleeves. Key rookie cards include a 1989 Topps Ken Griffey Jr. Future Stars number 336, 1990 Topps Frank Thomas number 414, 1990 Topps Sammy Sosa number 692, 1990 Topps Larry Walker number 757, 1991 Score Chipper Jones number 671, and a 1992 Topps Manny Ramirez number 155. Also present are multiple 1989 Score rookie cards including Randy Johnson number 645, John Smoltz number 635, and Craig Biggio number 237. The collection features various inserts and subset cards such as 1991 Score Master Blaster Bo Jackson number 411, Rifleman Ken Griffey Jr. number 407, K-Man Nolan Ryan number 401, and multiple Dream Team cards. Numerous Jim Thome rookie prospect cards from 1991 Topps and 1992 Score are also included along with cards of Cal Ripken Jr., Rickey Henderson, Kirby Puckett, and Andre Dawson. The bulk of the cards are housed in white cardboard storage boxes, some with handwritten labels and organizational sticky notes indicating contents such as 1992 Score Baseball, Dream Team, and Known Names.

Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.

Condition report:

All cards in this collection are in raw, ungraded condition. High-value cards are individually protected in plastic top-loader sleeves and appear to maintain sharp corners and clean edges based on visual inspection. Centering on key 1990 Topps rookie cards appears generally good for the era. The cards stored loosely in multi-row and single-row boxes may exhibit typical signs of handling, surface wear, and corner softening consistent with age and mass storage. No professional grading certificates or slabs are present.
