This collection consists of unopened factory-sealed packs of 2010 Topps Baseball trading cards, featuring both Series 1 and Series 2 releases. The group includes standard 10-card packs and a larger 50-card value pack. The packaging is constructed of metallic foil with printed graphics featuring Major League Baseball legends and contemporary stars of the era, including Lou Gehrig, Albert Pujols, Mickey Mantle, and Ty Cobb. Each pack carries the Topps brand logo and the holographic Major League Baseball exclusive trading card seal. These sets are known for containing significant rookie cards, including those of Stephen Strasburg, Giancarlo Stanton, and Madison Bumgarner. The reverse of the packs includes licensing information from MLB and the Players Association, along with UPC codes. The Series 1 packs display UPC 0 41116 00363 2, the standard Series 2 packs display UPC 0 41116 30363 3, and the larger Series 2 value pack displays UPC 0 41116 30760 7. The front of the value pack includes a disclaimer noting that packs containing a relic card may have a reduced count of 47 or 48 cards.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The packs are in original factory-sealed condition. There is evidence of minor shelf wear to the foil wrappers, including light corner softening and typical crimping at the seals. Notably, the reverse side of the 50-card value pack and one of the smaller Series 2 packs have black ink or marker marks that partially cover some of the legal and informational text. The items are ungraded and are being sold as-is for their potential contents.
