This collection consists of multiple New York Yankees baseball cards from various eras and manufacturers, including Topps, Fleer, Upper Deck, and Pinnacle. The lot features several notable player cards, most prominently a 1984 Topps Don Mattingly rookie card (number 8). Other highlighted cards include a 1976 Topps Thurman Munson (number 650) designated as an AL All Star Catcher, a 1981 Fleer Reggie Jackson (number 79), a 1985 Topps Don Mattingly (number 665), and a 1990 Topps Deion Sanders (number 61). The collection also contains a selection of Derek Jeter cards, such as the 1996 Upper Deck Road to the Show (number 165), 1997 Pinnacle AL Rookie of the Year (number 87), and 2000 Topps Magic Moments (number 163). Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The cards generally appear to be in good to very good condition. The 1984 Mattingly rookie card shows centering that is shifted slightly to the right. The 1976 Munson card displays some light edge wear and typical vintage centering. Most cards in the collection have clean surfaces and relatively sharp corners, though individual condition varies across the lot. No cards in this group have been professionally graded.
