BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! An Assortment of Baseball Trading Cards, Late 1980s to Early 2010s, Including Topps and Minor League Sets
This collection consists of multiple baseball trading cards spanning the late 1980s through the early 2010s, organized within three three-ring binders. The primary brand represented is Topps, supplemented by Topps Stadium Club, Fleer, and ProCards. The first binder focuses on the modern era, notably 2012 to 2013 Topps sets featuring players such as Jose Altuve, Nolan Arenado, Felix Hernandez, and Madison Bumgarner. The second binder includes early 2000s and 1990s issues, such as a 2002 David Ortiz card, 2003 Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez subset cards, and 1991 to 1992 Stadium Club cards featuring Ryne Sandberg and Jose Canseco. This binder also contains 2003 Draft Pick cards and historical inserts.
The third binder features minor league sets and team-focused collections from 1988 to 1991. Notable contents include 1988 ProCards and 1991 Topps Harrisburg Senators team sets, with the latter featuring a Matt Stairs pre-rookie card. The cards are constructed of printed cardstock and are housed in standard plastic nine-pocket sleeves. Subsets include World Series highlights, rookie cards, and various commemorative inserts.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.
Condition report:
All cards are ungraded and are presented in standard plastic binder pages. The cards generally appear to be in well-maintained, collected condition with sharp corners and edges visible on many of the modern issues. Surfaces appear clean throughout. The blue and white binders are in functional condition; however, the third binder with the vintage-style baseball scene cover shows significant external wear, cardboard aging, and surface scuffing.
