BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Ten 1980s Baseball Rookie Cards featuring Will Clark, Eric Davis, and Joe Carter
This collection contains ten baseball cards from the 1980s featuring various rookie players from major manufacturers including Topps, Donruss, and Fleer. The group includes 1984 Donruss Rated Rookies of Mike Jeffcoat (number 41), Joe Carter (number 42), and Tony Fernandez (number 43). A 1985 Eric Davis rookie collection is present, comprising cards from Fleer (number 155), Topps (number 627), and Donruss (number 439). Also included is a 1987 Will Clark rookie group with issues from Topps (number 420), Donruss (number 121), and Fleer (number 215). Rounding out the collection is a 1986 Donruss Cecil Fielder rookie card (number 512). Each card is housed in a clear protective sleeve, with the Fielder card in a labeled top loader.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The cards are ungraded and generally appear to be in mid-to-high grade condition (EX-MT to NM range). Centering varies by card; the Joe Carter and 1985 Topps Eric Davis are shifted toward the top and left, while the 1985 Donruss Eric Davis is shifted toward the top-right and the Cecil Fielder is shifted toward the bottom. Minor corner softness is noted on the 1985 Topps Eric Davis. The 1987 Donruss Will Clark exhibits minimal chipping on the condition-sensitive black borders. No visible creases, stains, or major surface defects are present. All items are sold as-is.
