A collection of vintage educational trade cards and small booklets from the Bancroft Tiddlers series, published circa 1965. The lot primarily focuses on the Inventors and Scientists series, designated as Book 9, and includes both individual illustrated cards and small stapled or fold-out booklets containing biographical information. Historical figures featured include Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Sir Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, James Watt, George Stephenson, Charles Darwin, Alfred Nobel, Gottlieb Daimler, Thomas Alva Edison, Marie Curie, Guglielmo Marconi, and Enrico Fermi. Explorers such as Robert Peary, Robert Falcon Scott, James Cook, William Dampier, and Mungo Park are also represented. Noteworthy items include a card featuring Soviet cosmonauts Aleksei Leonov and Pavel Belyayev from their 1965 mission and a sepia-toned card of William Shakespeare, noted as being from an engraving of the Chandos Picture.

The items are identified by the series label Bancroft Tiddlers with a red logo of a running figure. Several booklets contain the copyright statement: Published by and copyright 1965 Bancroft and Co. (Publishers) Ltd, Greencoat House, Francis Street, London S.W.1. The materials were printed in Holland. Each card features a colorful stylized illustration on the front with corresponding biographical text on the reverse or within the associated booklet. A portion of the collection is housed in clear plastic protective sleeves.

Condition report:

The collection is in overall good vintage condition. Visible wear includes minor edge wear, light corner bumping, and occasional surface soiling consistent with age and handling. Some booklets show signs of spine wear or minor loose pages. The paper exhibits natural age-toning throughout.
