BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Late 19th and Early 20th Century Cabinet Cards and Cartes-de-Visite

This collection consists of several dozen antique studio portraits dating from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries. The images include both albumen and silver gelatin prints primarily in cabinet card and carte-de-visite (CDV) formats. Subjects include multiple infants in traditional long christening gowns, young children, and individual and group portraits of men and women in formal attire. The photographs are mounted on original studio cardstocks, many featuring ornate lithographed borders and studio information. Visible studio marks include Saylor’s New York Gallery (411 N. Sixth St., Reading, PA), Lease (22 N. Queen St., Lancaster, PA), Keagey (Newport, PA), D.A. Bowman (Mahanoy City, PA), Chase’s Studio (South Bethlehem, PA), S. M. Romper (Gettysburg, PA), John D. Esmer (Harrisburg, PA), Geo. Rupprecht (Philadelphia, PA), Rogers (Harrisburg, PA), H. C. Phillips (Philadelphia, PA), and T. Lovall (Hay Springs, Neb.). Some items contain handwritten notations or dates, including one slip marked 1892. The collection is organized within a modern blue three-ring binder utilizing clear archival plastic sleeves.

Condition report:

The photographs show age-appropriate wear, including light foxing, some fading of the images, and minor edge and corner wear to the card mounts. Occasional silvering and minor surface marks are present on some prints. The modern binder and archival sleeves are in good condition.
