This 1938 Commonwealth of Australia silver one crown (KM# 34) is composed of .925 fine silver. The obverse features the left-facing bare-headed portrait of King George VI with the Latin legend GEORGIVS VI D : G : BR : OMN : REX F : D : IND : IMP. The reverse displays a large imperial crown at the center, circumscribed by the inscriptions COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA and ONE CROWN. The date 1938 is positioned directly below the central crown. This issue is a recognized key date for the short-lived Australian crown series, with a limited mintage of 101,600 pieces.
