This 1938 Commonwealth of Australia silver one crown (KM# 34) is composed of .925 fine silver. The obverse features the left-facing bare-headed portrait of King George VI with the Latin legend GEORGIVS VI D : G : BR : OMN : REX F : D : IND : IMP. The reverse displays a large imperial crown at the center, circumscribed by the inscriptions COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA and ONE CROWN. The date 1938 is positioned directly below the central crown. This issue is a recognized key date for the short-lived Australian crown series, with a limited mintage of 101,600 pieces.
Condition report:
The coin is in circulated condition, exhibiting significant wear on the high relief areas of the king\'s hair and the details of the imperial crown. The surfaces show multiple scratches and contact marks. Several notable nicks and bruises are visible along the rim on both the obverse and reverse.
