Description
BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of BI, NZ, MN, DE, RU, and UN Topical Stamps, 1960s-1990s
A diverse international philatelic collection primarily focused on topical themes from the mid to late 20th century. The lot includes several pages of African wildlife issues from Burundi, representing both the Kingdom (Royaume) and Republic (Republique) periods with various denominations in francs and centimes. A significant topical focus is chess, featuring a 1986 Mongolia souvenir sheet of world champions (denominated 4 Togrog), along with thematic sets from Paraguay, Hungary, Romania, and Fujaira. Marine life is extensively represented by two 1988 Whales in New Zealand presentation folders and various sheets from the United Nations, Marshall Islands, and Palau. Other topical groupings include space exploration tributes, Winston Churchill memorials, 1976 Christmas nativity scenes, and ethnographic depictions of native dancers and drummers. Geographic representation includes Germany with DDR issues, the USSR, a USA/USSR joint issue with circular cancellations, Chad, and Spanish Guinea. Most items are in mint condition and are mounted on illustrated album pages.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally fine to very fine condition. Most items are mint, including many that appear to be mint never hinged (MNH). A small percentage of stamps are used, exhibiting circular date stamp (CDS) cancellations. Centering is generally consistent across the various issues. The New Zealand presentation folders show minor signs of storage wear at the corners. No significant thins, tears, or staining were observed upon visual inspection.
