BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of DC Comic Books, Bronze to Modern Age
An assortment of approximately 100 to 150 comic books, primarily published by DC Comics, spanning from the early 1970s through the late 1980s. The collection is housed in a standard white cardboard comic storage box. Notable visible issues include Strange Adventures number 237 (August 1972) featuring Adam Strange with cover art by Murphy Anderson, Shazam! number 5 (September 1973) titled The Original Captain Marvel with art by C.C. Beck and Nick Cardy, and Tarzan number 221 (July 1973) featuring Edgar Rice Burroughs The Return of Tarzan with cover art by Joe Kubert. Later issues include Tales of the Green Lantern Corps number 4 (July 1981), Legion of Super-Heroes numbers 50, 51, 54, and 55 (1988-1989), and Secret Origins number 41 (June 1989). The lot contains a mix of cover prices ranging from 20 cents to $1.50. The books are constructed of stapled newsprint and glossier paper stock for the later issues. Several issues are individually housed in protective plastic bags with backing boards, while others remain loose within the box.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition, generally ranging from Fair to Very Fine. The early 1970s Bronze Age issues exhibit typical signs of age, including paper toning, spine stress, and minor corner wear. Shazam! number 5 displays notable wear including spine stress, small tears, and nicks along the right-hand cover edge. Later 1980s issues appear to be in better overall condition with minimal surface wear. No professionally graded or slabbed issues were observed.
