A collection of seven issues of Heavy Metal: The Adult Illustrated Fantasy Magazine published by HM Communications, Inc. during the publication’s first years. The lot includes two copies of October 1977 featuring cover art by H.R. Giger, December 1977 with cover art by Jean-Michel Nicollet, January 1978 with cover art by Boris Vallejo, February 1978 with cover art by Philippe Druillet, March 1978 with cover art by Enki Bilal, and April 1978 with cover art by Moebius (Jean Giraud). Several issues feature a Les Humanoïdes Associés distributor sticker on the lower left corner of the front cover. The magazines are presented in protective plastic sleeves with backing boards.
Condition report:
The magazines are in good to very good raw condition. Covers show bright colors and original gloss. Minor edge and corner wear is visible, consistent with handled vintage periodicals of this age. Some issues feature applied distributor stickers on the front covers. The March 1978 issue has a modern inventory sticker on the exterior of the protective plastic sleeve.
