A collection of seven Marvel comic books featuring the character Venom. This lot includes a near-complete run of the 1993 limited series Venom: Lethal Protector, as well as a modern Free Comic Book Day issue. Each comic is housed in an individual protective plastic bag with a backing board.

The collection includes:

Venom: Lethal Protector #1 (February 1993): This issue features a red foil cover and represents the start of Venom’s first solo limited series. Cover art is by Mark Bagley and Sam de la Rosa.

Venom: Lethal Protector #2 (March 1993): Features the Avengers Assemble! 30 Years anniversary logo. Cover art by Mark Bagley and Sam de la Rosa.

Venom: Lethal Protector #3 (April 1993): Two copies of this issue are included. Both feature the Avengers Assemble! 30 Years anniversary logo. Cover art by Mark Bagley and Sam de la Rosa.

Venom: Lethal Protector #5 (June 1993): Part five of the six-issue series. Cover art by Mark Bagley and Sam de la Rosa.

Venom: Lethal Protector #6 (July 1993): The final issue of the series, subtitled The Chilling Conclusion!. Cover art by Mark Bagley and Sam de la Rosa.

Free Comic Book Day: Spider-Man/Venom #1 (2021): Features cover art by Patrick Gleason and includes a preview of the Spider-Man Beyond storyline.

All issues from the 1993 series display the artist signatures of Bagley and De La Rosa on the front covers. The 2021 issue displays the Gleason signature.


Condition report:

The comic books are in raw, uncertified condition and appear to be in the Very Fine to Near Mint range. Spines are generally flat with sharp corners. Minor color-breaking spine stresses, or ticks, are visible on some issues, particularly on the dark edges of issues #2 and #3 and the red foil surface of issue #1. Covers exhibit bright colors and high gloss. The foil on issue #1 is well-preserved. There is no visible evidence of cover detachment, major creasing, or staining.
