This lot consists of two vintage Silver Age comic books from the DC Comics series Adventure Comics, published by National Comics Publications. Both issues feature Superboy and include cover art attributed to Curt Swan and Stan Kaye. Each comic has a 10 cent cover price and bears the Approved by the Comics Code Authority seal. Item 1 is Adventure Comics #242, dated November 1957, featuring the story The Kid from Krypton! The cover depicts Superboy being introduced to a character emerging from a spherical spacecraft. Item 2 is Adventure Comics #244, dated January 1958, featuring the story The Poorest Family in Smallville! The cover depicts Superboy offering a chest of gold to a family on a porch, which they refuse. Each comic is presented raw and is housed in an individual protective plastic sleeve with a cardboard backing board.
Condition report:
The comics are in raw, ungraded condition. Issue #242 displays vibrant cover colors with minor spine stress lines, slight blunting to the corners, and minor edge wear. Issue #244 shows light tanning and yellowing along the right edge consistent with age, along with visible spine stress marks and minor creasing at the spine and corners. Both copies appear solid and readable without significant paper loss or cover detachment visible from the front.
