This collection consists of clipped newspaper daily comic strips featuring the character The Phantom. The artwork is by Wilson McCoy, with his printed credit visible on numerous daily panels throughout the volume. The strips are published by King Features Syndicate, Inc., and bear copyright marks for 1954 and 1955. The clips are organized chronologically, covering a period from approximately December 1954 through May 1956. The black and white newsprint strips are mounted onto black cardstock pages and are contained within a black textured, spiral-bound binder. A handwritten adhesive label on the cover reads PHANTOM DAILIES 5/18/56 and 12-6-54 TO 10-31-56, with the latter date struck through.
Condition report:
The exterior binder cover shows moderate surface wear, dust, and light edge scuffing. The spiral binding remains intact and functional. Interior newsprint strips show tanning and toning consistent with the age of the paper. Most strips appear securely mounted, though some exhibit minor corner lifting, and one strip on the first page is partially detached.
