This collection consists of four vintage comic book digests published by the Archie Series (Archie Comics) and distributed by Fawcett. Included in the lot are Archie’s Super Hero Special No. 1 (1978), two copies of Archie’s Super Hero Comics Digest Magazine No. 2 (1979), and Little Archie Comics Digest Annual No. 3 (1978). Archie’s Super Hero Special No. 1 features a cover collage including characters such as Captain Pureheart, Captain Hero, Superteen, Evilheart, The Jaguar, and The Web. The Super Hero Comics Digest No. 2 issues feature cover art attributed to Gray Morrow depicting The Black Hood, with supporting appearances by Steel Sterling and The Fly. Little Archie Comics Digest Annual No. 3 contains 192 pages of stories and puzzles. All four volumes bear a 95-cent cover price and the Comics Code Authority seal. Condition report:
The digests are in mid-grade, well-preserved condition for their age. The covers retain their original gloss and bright colors. Visible wear includes minor spine stress marks, light spine roll, edge wear, and light corner creasing consistent with handled copies. Covers appear firmly attached with no visible detachment. The interiors were not examined for page quality or completeness.
