This is an oversized novelty wall clock manufactured by Electro-Optix, designed to resemble a large analog wristwatch. The piece is constructed from molded plastic using Superman’s signature primary color scheme. It features a bright yellow central housing joined to a blue plastic strap with a yellow buckle on one side and a red plastic strap with sizing holes on the other. The dial features a vibrant graphic of Superman in flight against a yellow sun and blue city skyline, including the printed phrase This is a job for… SUPERMAN. Red and yellow S shield logos mark the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, with red stars indicating the remaining hours. The clock is fitted with a blue hour hand, a red minute hand, and a yellow second hand. The reverse of the yellow casing is molded with the text: MADE IN U.S.A. BY ELECTRO-OPTIX POMPANO BEACH, FLA. The black quartz movement on the reverse is molded with the marks: QUARTZ and MADE IN U.S.A.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. Visible surface scuffing and light scratching are present on the clear plastic lens covering the dial. The flexible plastic straps show light creasing and minor deformation consistent with age. There is visible adhesive or tape residue on the reverse side at the attachment points between the straps and the central housing. The quartz movement is untested and the battery compartment appears clean; no battery is included.
