BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sports Programs and Ephemera
This collection features a variety of sports ephemera from the University of Notre Dame, primarily centered on football from the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Included are official game day programs for various seasons, with opponents such as Purdue (1990), Indiana (1991), Pittsburgh (1993 and 2010), Georgia Tech (1997), Michigan State (1997 and 2001), USC (1997), Michigan (1998), LSU (1998), Nebraska (2000), and South Florida (2011). The football items include media guides for 2003 and 2004, yearbooks for 2002 and 2003, and multiple issues of Blue-Gold Illustrated. A commemorative 100 Seasons of Notre Dame Football publication and a 2001 Spring Prospectus are also part of the group. Basketball memorabilia includes a 1979 NCAA program and a signed black and white photograph of a player in jersey 44, identified by appearance as Kelly Tripucka. Of historical note is a vintage ticket stub for the Southern California vs. Notre Dame game dated October 10, 1931.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The items exhibit good to very good condition overall. Typical signs of age and handling for paper ephemera are present, including minor edge wear, creasing, and age-related toning. Glossy covers show light surface scuffs. No certificate of authenticity is provided for the signed photograph.
