This collection consists of approximately 29 comic books published by Marvel Comics Group and Marvel Comics, spanning the Bronze Age of the mid-1970s through the early 2000s Modern Era. The lot features several complete and near-complete limited series runs along with individual key issues. All items are unslabbed and are presented in protective plastic sleeves with acid-free backing boards.
The collection includes several notable Bronze Age titles. Key among these are two copies of The Micronauts issue number 1 (January 1979), which marks the first appearance of the team in the Marvel Universe, featuring cover art by Dave Cockrum. Other Micronauts issues include two copies of number 3 with art by Michael Golden and issue number 12 by Pat Broderick. Also included are two late Bronze Age issues of Astonishing Tales featuring Deathlok the Demolisher: issue number 35 and the final issue of the series, number 36 (July 1976), both with cover art by Rich Buckler.
Modern Era titles feature a significant run of Soldier X starring Cable, with issues 2, 6, 7 (two copies), 8, 10, and 11 included, primarily featuring covers by Igor Kordey. The Nightwatch series from 1994 is represented by issues 1, 2, and 3, with the first issue featuring a guest appearance by Spider-Man. The Death’s Head II limited series from 1992 is included as a complete four-issue set with art by Liam Sharp, along with related titles such as Death’s Head Gold number 1 and Death’s Head II & Killpower: Battletide number 1. Additional contents include Night Thrasher: Four Control number 1, two issues of Slingers (7 and 11), and Bloodseed number 1 from the Marvel Frontier Comics imprint.
Condition report:
The comic books appear to be in mid-to-high grade condition, generally ranging from Fine to Near Mint. The covers largely retain high gloss and vibrant color saturation. The older newsprint issues from the 1970s show light tanning consistent with age. Spines appear mostly flat across the collection, with occasional light stress marks and minor color breaks visible on some issues, such as The Micronauts number 12. One copy of The Micronauts number 1 features a small white price sticker or label remnant on the upper left corner of the protective bag or cover.
