BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! Collection of Twelve Baseball Memorabilia Items Including Signed Balls and Official Packaging
This collection consists of twelve baseball memorabilia items featuring signed balls, commemorative editions, and original league packaging. A primary item is the Jackie Robinson 50th Anniversary (1947–1997) commemorative baseball, which features a printed facsimile signature and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Allstar Marketing Corp stating the signature is an exact replication. The collection includes two All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) items: one ball hand-signed in blue ink by Sarah Salty Sands (Ferguson) with Rockford Peaches 1953–1954 inscriptions, and one commemorative ball with the AAGPBL league logo; both are displayed in clear acrylic cubes. The lot further contains several signed baseballs, including two Omnipoint promotional balls with signatures including Mike Lowell, a Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons ball with a April 27, 1993 date, and an additional toned signed ball. Accompanying the baseballs are various original Rawlings boxes, including Official National League Game Ball, World Series Edition Exclusive for 2000, and a 1996 World Series logo Official League box.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The collection is in good to very good overall condition. The Jackie Robinson and AAGPBL baseballs are in excellent display condition. One of the hand-signed baseballs shows heavy yellowing and overall toning. The original Rawlings cardboard packaging displays signs of typical shelf wear, including minor crushing and creasing to the box edges and corners.
