BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! This lot contains two items of autographed baseball memorabilia. The first item is a framed display featuring Hall of Fame manager and catcher Al Lopez. The centerpiece is a black and white photograph of Lopez in a Chicago White Sox pinstriped uniform leaning on a batting cage, which is attributed to the Jay Publishing company 5×7 picture pack series produced between 1958 and 1965. Below the photograph are two matted window cutouts. One contains a card with the Chicago White Sox batter logo used between 1976 and 1990, and the other contains a cut signature on paper signed Al Lopez in blue ink. The display is presented in a black wood frame with a black mat and white core accents. The second item is a signed promotional card for the book titled Rex Barney’s Thank Youuuuu! for 50 Years in Baseball. The card features a black and white photo of Barney in a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform and a circular inset photo of him at a microphone as a broadcaster. The card is signed Rex Barney in black felt-tip marker. Rex Barney was a pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers and the longtime public address announcer for the Baltimore Orioles. No third-party authentication from PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett is present for either signature.
Condition report:
The frame on the Al Lopez display shows minor scuffs and surface wear. The enclosed photo, logo card, and signature slip are in good condition, with the paper signature slip showing faint natural toning. The Rex Barney promotional card shows minor edge wear and light handling marks. The signatures on both pieces are clear and bold.
