Description
BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! An Assortment of Vintage Baseball Cards, Sticker Albums, and Memorabilia
This comprehensive collection of baseball memorabilia features a diverse array of items spanning several decades. A notable highlight is a trio of unpunched 1964 Topps Stand-Up cards featuring Bob Clemente (Pittsburgh Pirates, Card No. 11), Joe Torre (Milwaukee Braves, Card No. 26), and Frank Howard (Los Angeles Dodgers, Card No. 24). The lot includes a group of five baseball sticker albums from the 1980s, including Topps editions from 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1985, and a 1988 Panini album. Also present is a collection of 1983 Donruss cards, with notable players including Pete Rose (Card No. 120), Al Oliver (No. 421), Pedro Guerrero (No. 151), and Bill Madlock (No. 518). The lot features approximately fifteen oversized photo cards with facsimile signatures, including George Brett, Reggie Jackson, Johnny Bench, and Willie Stargell. National Baseball Hall of Fame memorabilia includes plaque cards for Stanley Bucky Harris, Nestor Chylak, Ed Walsh, Hughie Jennings, and Stanley Anthony, along with a Christy Mathewson postcard from Keystone College. Further items include two 2005 USPS commemorative stamp sheets titled Legends of Baseball and Baseball Sluggers, multiple Topps Rod Carew decal sheets, and various miscellaneous card fragments.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.
Condition report:
The three 1964 Topps Stand-Up cards remain unpunched with minor corner softening and surface wear consistent with age. The 1980s sticker albums show varying degrees of shelf wear, corner blunting, and cover creasing, with interiors being partially filled with stickers. The 1983 Donruss cards appear in Near Mint condition with sharp corners and clean edges. Oversized photo cards and Hall of Fame memorabilia exhibit light wear consistent with age and storage.
