Description
A group of three vintage American comic books, likely dating from the mid-1950s to early 1960s, each bearing a 10¢ price and an “Approved by the Comics Code Authority” stamp. The first comic is “Battle” #62, featuring war-themed cover art depicting soldiers in combat, with text including “ALL BRAND-NEW BATTLE ADVENTURES!” and “…A NIGHT PATROL!”. The second, “Frontier Western” #49, displays a cowboy character with “AMBUSH!” prominently featured, alongside text reading “READ ALL ABOUT ‘THE MAN FROM OWLOOT CITY!'”. The third comic, “Journey Into Mystery” #57, showcases a large alien or robotic creature with text stating “OROGO! THE THING FROM BEYOND!” and “IT’S OROGO LIVES!! AND NOW HE’LL DESTROY US ALL!”. The reverse sides feature period advertisements for a “Slim ‘n Trim” girdle, a “Prizes… NO COST” offer, and a “He-Man Builders” body-building program.
Condition report:
All three comics exhibit visible signs of age and handling, including creasing, edge wear, and paper discoloration. Pages show typical yellowing consistent with vintage paper items.
