Description

A collection of five mid-20th century American comic books, featuring two issues of American Comics Group (ACG) ‘Calling John Force– Magic Agent’ (No1 Jan-Feb and No3 May-June, 12¢), which are identified by web intelligence as Silver Age comics. Issue No3 is faintly dated 1962 and both bear the ‘APPROVED BY THE COMICS CODE AUTHORITY’ stamp. The ‘Magic Agent’ covers depict a trench-coated operative interacting with unusual figures or in action scenarios. The lot also includes a ‘Tom & Jerry Comics’ issue (Dell Comic, 10¢, OCT., 52 pages) and two issues of ‘BEST of the WEST’ (Magazine Enterprises, 10¢, ‘2nd BIG ISSUE’ and ‘5th BIG ISSUE’), featuring characters such as The Durango Kid, Straight Arrow, Ghost Rider, and Tim Holt, with covers showcasing various Western characters. All comics are uniformly constructed from stapled paper.

Condition report:

The comics display visible signs of age and handling consistent with their vintage. Condition issues include creasing to covers and pages, edge wear, slight discoloration, and minor tears. Overall fair to good apparent condition for their age.
