Description
A pair of vintage American comic books, featuring the character Blue Beetle, published by Charlton Comics in 1964. The first issue, dated “JUNE,” depicts Blue Beetle fighting multi-limbed creatures with the cover text “BLUE BEETLE bugs the SQUIDS!” and “WHO is the QUESTION?”. The second issue, dated “NOVEMBER,” shows Blue Beetle battling “MR. THUNDERBOLT!” with the dramatic caption “YOU CANNOT ESCAPE ME BLUE BEETLE! YOU ARE DOOMED!”. Both comics are priced at 12 cents and bear the “APPROVED BY THE COMICS CODE AUTHORITY” stamp. The reverse of the comics features period advertisements, one for a “100 PC TOY SOLDIER SET” and another for “Wallace Brown, Inc.” Christmas cards. Both items are printed on paper.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit significant wear, including creasing, spine stress, edge tears, and discoloration consistent with age and frequent handling.
