Description
A 1971 issue of Harvey Comics’ ‘In The Days Of The Mob’ #1, featuring artwork and story contributions by Jack Kirby. The front cover, titled ‘The ROARING 30’s COME ALIVE!’, depicts a central figure in a fedora aiming two pistols, surrounded by vignettes of mobsters, bank robberies, and a tiger-like creature, rendered in bold primary colors. Key textual elements include ‘HAMPSHIRE DIST. LTD.’, ’50 CENTS’, and references to ‘MA’S BOYS!’, ‘BULLETS FOR BIG-AL’, ‘THE KANSAS CITY MASSACRE!’, and ‘JOHN DILLINGER’. The reverse side features an advertisement for ‘Liberty Magazine’ with a subscription offer, listing ‘635 Madison Avenue, New York, N.Y. 10022’ as the address. An external white label with the number ‘176’ is visible at the bottom of the item.
Condition report:
The item shows significant creasing, edge wear, and some discoloration across the paper/card stock, consistent with age and handling. Further minor surface abrasions and corner blunting are present.
