Description
A Silver Age comic book, Marvel Comics’ *The Avengers* #13, dated February 1965. This issue features the 1st appearance of Count Nefaria and a Fantastic Four cameo. The comic is encased in a CGC (Certified Guaranty Company) protective plastic slab, assigned a Universal Grade of 4.5 with “Off-white to white pages.” The cover art, attributed to Jack Kirby and Chic Stone, depicts the Avengers—Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Giant-Man (or Goliath), and the Wasp—amidst green gaseous energy within “The Castle of Count Nefaria,” with a distressed man operating a control console in the foreground. Story by Stan Lee, with art by Don Heck and Dick Ayers. The comic displays the “Approved by the Comics Code Authority” seal and a 12¢ price. Taglines on the cover include “YOU’LL GASP IN AMAZEMENT AT THE MOST UNEXPECTED FINAL PANEL YOU’VE EVER SEEN!” and “SEE RICK JONES AND HIS TEEN BRIGADE IMPRISONED IN THE DUNGEON OF DOOM!”.
