Description
This lot comprises approximately 17-18 vintage American comic books, predominantly published by Harvey Comics and one by Farrell Publications. Characters featured include Casper the Friendly Ghost, Sad Sack, Dennis the Menace, Spunky, Hot Stuff the Little Devil, and Sad Sack’s Army Life/Sarge. The covers exhibit a classic mid-20th century comic art style, characterized by bright, saturated colors and clear line work. Many display the “Approved by the Comics Code Authority” seal and a “10¢” price, indicating a likely publication period from the 1950s to 1970s. Specific visible issue numbers and dates include “Nov. No. 27,” “Jan. No. 29,” and “May No. 105,” with titles such as “The Friendly Ghost, ” “Dennis the Menace and His Friends, ” “The Smiling Spook, ” “The Little Devil, ” and “Loved by Millions.” The artist signature “George Baker” is present on at least two Sad Sack titles.
