Description
An original copy of Star Spangled Comics #33, published by National Comics (DC Comics) in June 1944. Priced at “Ten Cents,” the cover features a Golden Age style illustration of the “Newsboy Legion Canteen Welcome Service Men,” with text also mentioning “The Guardian,” “Lieutenant Bella,” “Star-Spangled Kid,” “Penniless Palmer,” and “Robotmann.” The back cover displays a “Lighter Moments with fresh Eveready Batteries” advertisement, depicting a soldier and a woman, with the caption “You’re violating the blackout, Sergeant!”
Condition report:
The comic shows significant signs of age and handling, including creasing, edge wear, minor tears, visible spine stress, and general discoloration consistent with a publication from the 1940s. Good to Very Good condition.
